We are excited to have Jordan Engbers speak to us about ‘Making an Impact with Data Science’. Below is an outline of his presentation and Jordan’s bio;

We hear that data will change everything. Large companies demonstrate the power of data through their smarter and faster algorithms every day. But how can you begin to take advantage of accelerating data volume and new technologies? More importantly, how can you use data to have a positive impact on the world? This talk is about emerging trends in data science, strategies for getting started in data science, and how we can make sure we are having the right impact with our work. We’ll also take a look at some examples of how we do data science at Desid Labs.

I am the Founder and Chief Scientist at Desid Labs Inc, a data science consulting company, and #CTO of Systolik Inc. My background is bioinformatics, experimental and computational neuroscience, and clinical data science. I am driven by my passion for helping people create impact and for using #technology to help improve health outcomes.
