#Incubators and #Accelerators leading the charge to power (young) Canadian entrepreneurs
One of the reasons #Canada’s economy is suitable for young founders to begin companies in is due to the rich incubator and accelerator system. Organizations like the #DMZ, #MaRS and #Communitech provide resources for students to access and turn into a real startup.
As I’ve written about in the recent past – Rise of Incubators and Accelerators, Geoffrey Hinton’s influence, an AI National focus and looking to the future – incubators and accelerators have been “accelerating” Canadian innovation for over a decade. As you can tell, the proof is now in the pudding – Canada is at the top!
What a time to be Canadian (and to be an investor in Canadian #startups).
At this point, what we’re really waiting on is that more and more companies in Canada start making the unicorn lists for tech companies. We need companies built and headquartered in Canada that are of the size of an Amazon, Facebook, Google, Netflix, Microsoft!
